One of the easiest and most delicious pear tarts i have ever ate! You can not imagine how easy this pear galette is to prepare. You just got to try it out. Pear galette is a perfect dessert to enjoy with a cup of tea.

What Is Galette

First of all, let me explain what galette really is. Galette is a flat, round crust pie that is made just with flour, butter, a little bit of salt, sugar and water. Big plus for not needing any baking pan to prepare it. And all you have to do is to combine these ingredients until it comes together. In this recipe, i used pears but you can substitute them with other fruits.

Here is a list of fruits that i love to make galette with:

  • peach
  • blueberry
  • apple
  • strawberries
  • plum

Basically you can use any fruit you like, even banana or fig. You can even prepare galette in a salty way and make it with vegetables! How amazing is that ?

How To Make Galette

To make the crust, whisk the flour, sugar, salt together in a bowl. Add butter into the bowl, using your hands break the pieces of butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the water and stir using a fork until the dough comes together. Shape into a bowl then sprinkle with flour. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 45 minutes, up to 3 days.
