Classic, crispy on the outside soft inside butter cookies. Made using just five simple ingredients. These butter cookies recipe is easy to make at home!

I love simple and easy recipe. If you like quick and easy cookies, than this recipe is for you. With this recipe, everything will be done just in 10 minutes, the rest is just baking time.

Tips

  • be sure to use soft butter rather than cold. It should be at a room temperature so you can cream it easily.
  • you can substitute caster sugar with granulated sugar, it will work as well.

How To Make Butter Cookies

To start, place SOFT butter in a bowl. Cream about 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Mix in egg yolk, powdered sugar, peanuts and flour. After that, use your hands to combine all ingredients. If dough is too sticky add a bit more flour until it is soft. Small portion of dough roll between your hands into round bowl. Then, release the dough onto a backing sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough. Bake until golden brown around the edges. Be careful not to over bake these cookies! Roll each cookie into powdered sugar when still warm. Set aside to cool completely then dust again in powdered sugar.

Materials

  • 220 g butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup caster sugar
  • cup peanuts
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  • In a large bowl cream butter about 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Mix in egg yolk, powdered sugar, peanuts and flour. Use your hands to combine all ingredients. If dough is too sticky add a bit more flour until it is soft.
  • Small portion of dough roll between your hands into round bowl.  Release the dough onto a backing sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • Bake in preheated 175°C oven for 30-40 minutes until lightly golden brown around the edges. Remove from oven.
  • Roll cookies into powdered sugar when still warm. Set aside to cool completely then dust again in powdered sugar.
